Annual Health Fair being held in Ocean Pines in October

The 6th annual health fair will be held in Ocean Pines on Oct 1.

Atlantic General Hospital and Peninsula Regional Medical Center are joining the Ocean Pines Association and its Communications Advisory Committee to provide a free health fair for the community. The event will take place Saturday October 1 from 8AM until noon in the Ocean Pines Community Center, 235 Ocean Parkway, in Ocean Pines.

PRMC will provide different screenings including skin cancer screenings, that will be given on PRMC’s Wagner Wellness Van outside of the community center.   In the community center, PRMC will provide blood pressure checks, stroke risk assessment, pulse oximetry, bone density, falls assessment and body mass index screening.

Furthermore, Peninsula Regional will have information on programs such as its comprehensive cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation program, community support groups, family lab services, lifeline medical emergency alert system and the new Delmarva health pavilion in Ocean Pines.

There will also be information on personal safety and health topics including the Affordable Care Act/Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program updates, and community health-related vendors from the area providing additional screenings and education.

In 2016,  participants over the age of 13 will be able to get flu shots from the AGH from 8AM until noon during the event.

The free event is not restricted to Ocean Pines residents; it is open to everyone.
