yeah that’s right david, aleya cummings is a special young lady. we’ve talked alot about so much already and the soccer season’s just starng. naturally, she’s back in our news.. as former caesar rodney star and current wolverine freshman aleya cummings has been named cac offensive player of the week. cummings got the award after scoring four goals in two games last week leading wesley to wins…in both of those contests. she’s off to a sick start in her college career. she leads the nation in division iii with 12 goals thru 6 games, so on a ridiculous pace of two goals every time she laces em up as her wolverines are 4-2 on the season. the womens team at wesley, won just five games last season, they already have four wins so a big time impact from the freshman from dover. more honors being racked up here in salisbury as well, for the second week in a row a salisbury university sea gull captures the special teams player of the week honor in the njac, this week its punter tim steindel of dover delaware. steindel also from caesar rodney high school in camden, had a monster weekend on the field. he averaged over 60 yards per kickoff, four of them resulted in touchbacks. he alsodropped two punts inside of the 20 yard line, made it hard on montclair state as the gulls beat montclair state 40-20 on saturday. and speaking of those gulls, they’re climbing up the national polls again after that big win this weekend, they now sit at number 15. the sea gulls earned 271 points in this week’s poll, gaining 25 points from last week and currently stand 29 points away from no. 14 delaware valley university. the sea gulls hit the road for the first time in 2016 this saturday, september 24, traveling to southern virginia university for a 1 p.m., kickoff. to the nfl, all eyes on the eagles tonight on monday night football as they are matched up with the bears as i speak. malcolm jenkins holding up the fist before the game, in the game, jay cutler throwing up a bomb. hits alshon jefferey way down the field for a big gain into the redzone. chicago would use that play, to cash out. jeremy langford bigging up my fantasy team, he’s into the endzone for the score. they would lead 7-3 for most of the half until 8 seconds before halftime, caleb sturgis boots a field goal in r the eagles from 53 yards out. eagles took a 9-7 lead into the half, philly goes on to have a big second half, two scores from ryan matthews and they currently lead 29-14 with under 2 minutes remaing. and monday nights mean one thing in particular here at 47abc, its racing night. lets take a look at some of the winner’s of this past week’s action. dale hawkins takes the napa big block modified checkered, a year after his son matt took it. father and son in a one-two finish. brian brobst also walking away a winner this weekend, and in the super trucks, shane clogg is your winner in the super trucks class. some other winners were donald lingo jr, billy thompson, jordn justice, tim white, and mel joseph jr. congrats to all winners as well as all participants on yet another safe and fun racing enviroment. that’s it for sports. good news is just ahead- keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc!
