Visitors Center opens up in downtown Salisbury

Exciting news for downtown Salisbury and all those who plan to visit the heart of the Eastern Shore. The city now has a brand new visitors center. On Friday Mayor Jake Day and other community members gathered on North Division street in Salisbury to officially its open doors.

The visitors center is a first for Salisbury and Day says what he thought would be an 8 to 10 month project, happened much more quickly. He says opportunity struck, they got a good location and decided to go for it.

47 ABC spoke with Day and he says, “There are many many people, thousands of people who come every single day to the heart of the Eastern Shore here in Salisbury and the reality is there is no way to greet them and this is an extension of our greeting.”

Day says the visitors center will be open 6 days a week closing only on Sundays. Another new aspect being added to Salisbury, there will be a celebration on North Division street every Friday night beginning at 5 pm. Much like third Friday, folks can enjoy a fun game of corn-hole, try local beers and enjoy live music.
