UPDATE: Scenes cleared after bomb threats at Target stores in both Salisbury and Dover

Salisbury Police and Dover Police have both reported that they responded to bomb threats made at Target stores in Dover and North Salisbury.

It is not clear whether these two events are linked at this time, however both departments are aware of the two threats, and they were apparently called in around the same time.

The Dover Police Department says that the building in Dover was evacuated safely.

Dover Police have also reported that they cleared the scene at Target after a thorough search of the property. They ask that anyone with information on this matter, please send a direct message on Facebook or call 302-736-7130.

Salisbury Police have reported that they responded to the Target on North Point Drive around 11:40 AM, and it was safely evacuated as well.

Salisbury Police say that further investigation showed that a phone call was received by Target personnel, and a suspect, who appeared to have a male voice, stated there was a bomb in the building. Maryland State Police and Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office K-9 teams helped in the search of the Salisbury Target and adjoining retail stores, but no explosive devices were reportedly found on the property.

The Salisbury Target apparently re-opened for business around 2:30 PM on Thursday.

No one has been reported as injured in this incident, and Salisbury Police say that officers and detectives are investigating at this time and are trying to identify a suspect and telephone number. Salisbury officers ask that anyone with information on this incident to call 410-548-1776.

The Easton Police Department has reportedly not received notice of any kind of a threat to the Target store located there.

These investigations are ongoing and more information on suspects will be released as it is made available.
