Two teenage boys arrested for felony drug possession

Zachary Clayton, 18, of Rehoboth Beach

Officers say that two teenage boys were arrested on felony drug possession on Sunday night.

Zachary Clayton, 18, of Rehoboth Beach, and a 16-year-old from Georgetown, were reportedly arrested after being contacted by police officers on Rehoboth Avenue for yelling profanity in public.

According to the report, around 11:50 PM, officers approached a vehicle occupied by Clayton and a minor after seeing them leave a nearby building yelling profanity in the presence of other members of the public.

The officers say they approached the vehicle to warn the two about their behavior, when they smelled marijuana coming from the car.

During a search of the vehicle, officers apparently found a total of 92 grams of marijuana in addition to scales and additional bags for packaging.

According to the report, both Clayton and the 16-year-old were arrested and charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of second degree conspiracy. Both of these charges are felonies.

Clayton was released on $15,000 unsecured bail and the minor was released on his own recognizance to a guardian.
