Two-month-old infant found unresponsive in Bridgeville

Detectives with Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit say they are currently investigating a death of a two-month-old boy that happened Thursday morning at a home east of Bridgeville.
Around 7:40 AM, troopers were reportedly dispatched to Camp Road in Bridgeville after a 911 call was received from the home.
According to the report, the 911 call stated that a two month old infant was unresponsive.
Detectives say that preliminary investigation suggests the mother tried to wake the infant from sleeping, and while doing so, found the infant unresponsive and not breathing.
The infant was reportedly treated by EMS at the scene and taken to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives say the child was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the exact cause and manner of death. Detectives are reportedly continuing their investigation into this incident.
