Officials from the Coast Guard say two boaters were rescued after their disabled boat began to take on water in the Metompkin Inlet Tuesday.

Coast Guard members at Sector Hampton Roads say they received a report from the Eastern Shore of Virginia at around 10:47 AM.

The Coast Guard reportedly launched a crew at 11:19 AM, from Coast Guard Station Wachapreague. An MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter was reportedly en route from another station, and changed route to assist with the water rescue.

The two boaters were retrieved by boats, both of whom officials say were wearing life vests.

No injuries were reported.
