Troopers seek public’s help to ID armed suspect

Delaware State Police say they are investigating an incident in which a man pointed a weapon at another man during what began as a road rage late last month in Bear.
The incident reportedly happened on July 27 around 8 PM as a 37-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle on US40 in the area of DE7, Bear.
It was at this time that the victim apparently was cut off by a second vehicle that was also traveling on US40. Officials say both vehicles then pulled into the parking lot of the Governor’s Square Shopping Center, and the victim then got out of his car and confronted the woman driver of the second car about cutting him off. The victim then apparently went inside of a store in the shopping center.
According to the report, a short time later, the victim left the store and was confronted by the woman who was driving the second car as well as several men. The victim then apparently ran to his car and left the parking lot when two men followed him in a red Dodge Durango.
Officials say as both vehicles drove eastbound on US40, one of the men in the second vehicle leaned out of the passenger window and displayed an unknown make and model handgun at the victim.
Both vehicles reportedly continued onto DE Route 273 until they came upon an officer from the New Castle City Police Department who was in the process of conducting an unrelated vehicle stop.
The suspect vehicle then apparently drove away, and the man who showed the gun is reportedly described as 25-30 years of age, 6’01”-6’04” tall, 170-180 lbs., and had a thin build.
Officials say the second suspect who was driving the Durango, is described as 25-30 years of age, 5’10”-6’00” tall, 180-190 lbs., with a muscular build.
