Speeding violation results in two possession arrests

Alvin Williams, 21, and Vincent Walls, 45

A speeding violation apparently led to the arrest of two subjects on a traffic stop for possession of marijuana and a handgun on Tuesday morning.

According to the report, Alvin Williams, 21, was stopped in the area of River Road and New Castle Avenue for speeding when officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Officials say the passenger, Vincent Walls, 45, also provided a false name to police. A search of the vehicle reportedly led to the discovery of a loaded .40 caliber Taurus handgun and 1.3 grams of marijuana.

Officials say both subjects were taken into custody without incident.

According to the report, Williams was released on $4,000 unsecured bond on for carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and Walls was charged with possession of marijuana, criminal impersonation, and drug paraphernalia. Bond information is apparently not available for Walls.
