Senator Cardin speaks at MA-Co conference

On Thursday Maryland senator Ben Cardin spoke at the MA-Co conference in Ocean City touching upon many topics happening at the national level. One thing Cardin felt especially passionate about is cyber security.

Senator Cardin tells 47 ABC that more companies are getting involved with cyber security, including private companies. Throughout the state of Maryland there are many places that support cyber security including Maryland University where there’s a cyber center.

Senator Cardin tells 47 ABC, “We look at Maryland for our economic growth, yes we look at traditional manufacturing, we look at the biotech area, we look at the tech areas, cyber is clearly one of the areas where Maryland can see some economic growth.”

Senator Cardin tells 47 ABC that he is proud of team Maryland – and knows that they have a common mission to help people do the best that we can.

Another topic that Senator Cardin touched upon was how we are dealing with a big agenda. Cardin says the biggest thing on that agenda? Passing a budget. He says October 1st means a new fiscal year and part of that is making sure we have adequate funding for Zika research and the heroin epidemic.
