Salisbury woman charged after April assault

On April 16, a deputy reportedly arrested a woman in connection with a reported burglary and assault.

According to the victim in this case, Valerie Lightfoot, 47, of Salisbury, came to the victim’s residence following an argument earlier in the day, stormed in uninvited, and began challenging the victim to a fight.

According to the report of the victim, Lightfoot threw vinegar at them, along with several pots and pans before leaving.

Officials say that upon arrest, the deputy took Lightfoot to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.

Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner reportedly detained Lightfoot in the Detention Center in lieu of $7,500 bond.

She was charged with:

  • Burglary third degree
  • Burglary fourth degree
  • Assault second degree
  • Reckless endangerment
