Police arrest Dover man for traffic violation and drug possession

While on patrol on Friday, the Harrington Police Department arrested a man, initially pulled over for a traffic violation, for drug charges. Police said upon stopping Anthony Loper, 26, of Dover, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The odor prompted officers to conduct a search of Loper’s vehicle. According to the report, police located 33.2 grams of marijuana, 5.9 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Loper was charged with a possess or consume marijuana other than personal use quantity, possess or consume a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have vehicle registration in possession and fail to signal turn.
Loper was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was released on $835 unsecured bond.
