One child dead and one injured after getting caught in boat propeller

A 9-year-old boy has been killed after police say he and another 11-year-old were struck by a boat propeller in Ocean City.

According to Maryland Natural Resources Police, the 9-year-old boy and an 11-year-old fell from a boat were struck by a boat propeller around 2:50 PM on Sinepuxent Bay.

Police say that officers are currently on the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.

Police say the boy was hit on a rented pontoon boat from Under the Bridge Watersports in Ocean City.

This is reportedly the third incident that has involved a person falling off of a vessel and being struck by a propeller in a month. One woman fell off a jet ski and was hit by a boat propeller, and another person was struck by a boat propeller and severely injured
