Local law enforcement helps those close to Dallas targeted officers

It has been almost one month since the targeted killing of five Dallas police officers. Despite it taking place in Dallas, local law enforcement on Delmarva decided to take matters into their own hands to raise money for the friends and families of those victims.
FOP President and organizer Rob Smith told 47 ABC that he felt it was their duty to help by hosting a fundraiser on Wednesday.
The fundraiser included fun and games such as corn hole and 50-50 raffle. The event also sold food such as burgers, hot dogs, and oysters.
Smith states that everything was geared to raise as much money as possible for the Dallas families for those who lost their father or their husband.
In the large crowd of event goers, 47 ABC even spotted Senator Jim Mathias. Mathias quoted “I look around the room and see folks from Crisfield, folks from Ocean City, folks from over Salisbury, and when they all come together it makes you feel great, it’s gratifying. When you talk about being together and being one is one thing but when you come and witness it, that’s example.”
Smith said that all the money raised will be donated to the Dallas Police Department in November. Smith said he would personally be handing the department the money.
