Laurel man busted for Georgetown Pharmacy armed robbery

Police in Georgetown say, they have arrested a Laurel man after he allegedly robbed a local pharmacy at gunpoint.
According to reports, on Monday Georgetown Police say they were called to the Georgetown Pharmacy, located on East Market Street for a robbery. Investigators say, 40-year-old Timothy Skerstad entered the business with his face covered and armed with what appeared to be a revolver style handgun. Skerstad reportedly demanded prescription medication from the pharmacist, which the pharmacist reportedly complied and gave him an undisclosed amount of prescription medication. Police say, Skerstad was then seen fleeing behind the shopping center. He was reportedly apprehend a short distance away with nearly $6,000 of the prescription medication and a replica gun that was reportedly used.
Police have charged Skerstad with first degree robbery, aggravated menacing, and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held in lieu of $40,000 cash bond.
