Laurel man arrested for robbing Georgetown Pharmacy

Georgetown police officers have arrested 40-year-old Timothy Skerstad of Laurel, Del.  for robbing the Georgetown Pharmacy Monday night.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. and apprehended Skerstad a short distance away from the pharmacy.

According to police  Skerstad entered the business with his face covered and what appeared to be a revolver style handgun.

Skerstad demanded prescription medication from the pharmacist.

The pharmacist complied with his demands and gave him an undisclosed amount of prescription medication.

Police recovered nearly $6000.00 of the prescription medication that was taken during the robbery and a replica gun that was used.  

Skerstad is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Aggravated Menacing, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Skerstad was arraigned and committed to the Department of Correction and is being held on $40,000.00 cash bond.
