H.S. Football Preview: Woodbridge Blue Raiders

The Woodbridge’s football team is looking for big things in 2016 following their surprising run to the state semifinals. The Blue Raiders return a good portion of last years team, including play makers like Shymere Vessels and Terrique Riddick.

Woodbridge will be guided by Troy Haynes under center as he enters his 2nd season as their quarterback. They’ll have a plethora of running backs to choose from this year as the team is one of the most athletic in school history; but the unit will be headlined by Division 1 prospect Riddick. The line also returns 4 of their 5 starters, but adds a nice transfer to fill the final spot. On the defensive side of the ball, the Blue Raiders will be led by a pair of dominate defensive ends in Vessels and Blaize Radford, while being backed by Leah Styles.

Woodbridge opens up their season on September 9th when they host Dover.
