H.S. Football Preview: Washington Jaguars

The Washington football team is hoping for a break through season in 2016 in their 2nd year under head coach Greg Lasinski. The Jaguars will lean heavily on their returning running back Travelle Jones, a thousand yard rusher from a season ago, to help spark their offensive attack this year.
The Jaguars took their lumps in 2015 as the program adjusted to a new system, finishing the year 1-9. The team is now hoping that the year of experience will pay off this time around and will lead them to a big surprise year. The Jags must first find their replacement under center as the team graduated last years starting quarterback Julius White. There is a QB battle brewing in camp right now between sophomore Anthony Snyder and junior Eric Ballor. Ballor has shown the ability to get outside the pocket and create with his legs while Snyder has displayed flashes of a strong arm with good accuracy. The defense will the unit hoping for the biggest turnaround this year, after allowing 32 points per game. That unit though enters the season confident that the adjustments have been made, and that they will be able to display the growth they’ve had in their 2nd year with the system.
Washington opens up the year on September 2nd when they host Bennett.
