H.S. Football Preview: Sussex Central Golden Knights

The Sussex Central football team is looking to build off the momentum that they finished the 2015 season off with to open this year. The Golden Knights finished last year winning 5 of their final 6 games; missing out on the playoffs by just one game.
Central’s first order of business will be finding a replacement for Kiante Sturgis in the backfield, after he finished with over 20 touchdowns on his way to earning 3rd-Team All-State Honors. Kendrique Nocks figures to be the new lead back, and showed flashes of explosion last year. The run game will be aided by the return of a strong offensive line, which looks to be the strength of this team this year. The Golden Knights will also be going with a new quarterback under center this year, with senior Brady Bowden having the early lead for the position. Central will have their work cut out for them early with a tough non-conference schedule with match ups against Queen Anne’s and Interboro PA.
Sussex Central opens up their season on September 9th when they travel to play Laurel.
