H.S. Football Preview: Milford Buccaneers

The Milford football team is looking to build off their break through 2015 season with another big year this season. The Buccaneers finished 6-4, just missing out on the playoffs in coach Shaun Strickland’s first season. The program had went 6-34 in the previous 4 seasons combined.

Milford will first look to fill the holes left by the 20 graduating seniors from the year before. Thankfully, the unit does return a couple key starters, including at quarterback where William Kimmel enters his 2nd season leading the way. Midway through last years season, the Bucs made the move to put him under center, moving Marcus Correa out from under center and to wide out. Correa proved to be a dangerous target on the outside with his size ans athleticism. Coach Stickland hopes that another year with the two of them will help continue to build the chemistry and help the offense elevate to the next level. Defensively the Bucs were solid in 2015, averaging just 15.4 points per game. With nearly the entire unit returning, the team is hoping they will be even better this time around.

Milford opens up their season on September 9th when they travel to play Red Lion.
