H.S. Football Preview: Lake Forest Spartans

The Lake Forest football team is looking to claim their 3rd straight conference crown headed into the 2016 season. The Spartans will have a much different looking team this year after graduating 25 seniors, and will look to fill the void left by several important play makers from a year ago.
First, Lake will be looking to replace 2 year starting quarterback in Noah Johnson. Johnson was the son of head coach Freddie Johnson, and ran the option as good as any quarterback in the system the last few years. The Spartans will now look to Xavier Daniels who takes over under center as a junior. The transition hasn’t been seamless to this point, but he has progressed well and has began to find comfort now in the complex read and react offense. The move has been made easier by the emergence of tight end/wide out Cam Lewis. The big senior spent the off season in the weight room and bulked up, and has elevated his game to another level. The Spartans will have several new faces on the line that will take advantage of a very difficult preseason and non-conference schedule to try and find their comfort with one another.
Lake Forest opens up their season on September 10th when they travel to play Hodgson.
