H.S. Football Preview: Caesar Rodney Riders

The first year in the Dan Candelero era did not go so well for Caesar Rodney. Notorious for a tough schedule, the Riders gritty opponents continued to get the best of them week after week, with the result of CR’s run ending with just two wins.

The Riders expect year two to be much different. After splitting time with senior Brian Lewis a year ago, junior quarterback Jared Waggenhoffer steps into camp as the odds-on starter. Waggenhoffer will share the backfield with speedy backs like Nghaire Wills, who came up with big plays for CR in games last season.

The Riders will have to be at their best early, as they take to the road to face off against Middletown on Friday, September 9th at 7:30 pm.
