Filly born on Assateague Island National Seashore

An official from the Assateague Island National Seashore say rangers were surprised and happy to announce and unexpected filly joined the herd this week.

The baby horse was likely born on Monday by the looks of her they say. She reportedly still had her umbilical cord attached when she was spotted on Tuesday, and indication she was brand new.

Chama Wingapo gave birth to the baby girl. Wingapo is a 6-year-old horse.
