Easton man served with second degree assault warrant

On Monday, officers say they served a Talbot County District Court warrant on an Easton man.

Joshua Showacre, a 35- year-old from Easton, was reportedly served for one count of assault in the second degree.

The charging papers stated that Showacre assaulted his girlfriend, Melissa Downes on August 2, after she woke Showacre.

Officials say Showacre became angered and pushed and hit Downes causing bruising to her upper torso and scrapes to her knees and shins.

Showacre was later apparently taken before the Talbot County District Court Commissioner where he was released on his own recognizance
