Delaware SPCA gears up for Bark on the Boards

Watch out Rehoboth, the boardwalk is going to the dogs on Saturday, October 1! The 6th Annual Bark on the Boards hosted by the Delaware SPCA will kick off at 10:30 AM, at Lake Gerar Park.

At 11:00 AM there will be a performance by Mid Atlantic Disc Dogs. Then at Noon, the party will make its way to the north end of the Boardwalk for the Dog Walk. The theme for this year’s fundraiser is “Pups for President” and will feature a “patriotic best” costume contest for your furry friends.

Following the walk is an after-party at The Big Chill Surf Cantina in Rehoboth, featuring specialty cocktails Mutt-A-Rita and Hair of the Dog. You can register on the Delaware SPCA website for $25 per adult, $5 per child, and dogs are free! Those who register will get t-shirts and bandanas for free.

There will also be prizes for individuals who raise $50 or more. The Delaware SPCA says that those looking to participate but don’t have a dog, are still more than welcome to attend. For more information, or to create your own personal fundraising page, visit the Delaware SPCA website.
