Construction near Salisbury University may be causing delays with move-in day

On Thursday August 24, 2016 move-in day starts for all freshman at Salisbury University. With the largest freshman incoming class in the history of the institution, traffic will build up more than usual.
Somewhere to 1,000 students are moving in and drivers should be aware of the influx of students coming in and causing more traffic.
In front of campus, Business Route 13 is already under construction causing delays for driver. With the arrival of students, the traffic around the school may come to a halt.
Maryland State Highway Administration says they are adding a turn lane and doing some side walk work in the area.
SU’s Associate Dean of Students says they have been communicating with students on a move-in schedule so they do not all arrive at the same time.
SU Police says there are some restrictions on Camden Avenue. The restrictions will cover Pine Bluff all the way to College Avenue. Salisbury Police Department will be assisting on College and Camden Avenue.
The Wicomico County Sheriff Department will be helping as well. The restrictions will run from 6:30 a.m. to about 1 or 2 p.m.
An SU police offer says his biggest tip is to avoid Route 13 right in front of the college.
The rest of the student body will be moving in on Saturday August 27, 2016 and SU police say to keep a look out for that traffic, as well.
