Car crashes into tree, one reported dead

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit says it is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that happened on Saturday.
Around 7:40 PM on Truitts Landing Road in the Girdletree area of Worcester County, a Chevrolet reportedly driven by Charles Parks, 54, of Salisbury was driving north at a very high speed.
Officials say the car began to rotate clockwise and hit a tree, with the main impact happening at the vehicle’s driver’s door. Parks was reportedly not restrained at the time of the crash and he subsequently died due to his injuries.
The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Sarah Davis, 31, of Salisbury, and she was reportedly restrained in the vehicle and was injured in the crash. Officials say Davis was transported to P.R.M.C. in Salisbury for treatment and later released.
According to the report, speed and possible drug use are factors in the crash.
