Cab driver robbed at gunpoint

The Dover Police Department says they are investigating an early morning robbery of a taxi cab driver on Tuesday.

Around 2:20 AM, a 63-year-old man, driving for City Cab, was reportedly robbed at gunpoint while sitting inside his vehicle.

Officials say the driver was stopped in the area of Mary Street and Bradford Street, when a male suspect approached the driver holding a handgun towards his head and demanded money.

According to the report, the victim complied and the suspect ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is apparently described by the victim as being a male, with braided hair, 5’8″ and about 180 pounds.
