Big League: District 3 Wins 2nd Striaght, Tops Europe-Africa

The District 3 big league softball team won their 2nd straight game in pool play Wednesday night when they topped Europe-Africa 7-1. The win improves District 3 to 2-2.

The District 3 team came into the game knowing that they needed a win to make it out of pool play, and play with the aggression that showed it. Avery Wheatley opened the game with a bunt single, which was followed by a bunt single from Mya Maddox. The throw to 1st was wide of the bag, and Maddox would round the bag. Europe-Africa would try and pick her off, which allowed for Wheatley to keep on running and score . District three would then double their lead in the 2nd after working the bases loaded for Maddox. She would hit one hard to 3rd which would be bobbled, and allow Malaurie Noble to come on in. The lead proved to be more than enough for Mika Walker who would control Europe-Africa’s lineup from the start.
