Beebe Healthcare receives American Heart Association Award for their commitment to quality stroke care

The American heart Association recognized Beebe Healthcare’s commitment for their quality stroke care.

Beebe healthcare has received Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award, which recognizes the hospitals commitment and success in ensuring stroke patients to receive the best treatment.

Their goal is to have speedy recovery in order to reduce death and disability for stroke patients.

According to the American Heart Association, stroke is the number five cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the United States. On average, someone in the U.S. suffers a stroke every 40 seconds, someone dies of a stroke every 4 minutes, and nearly 800,000 people suffer a new or reoccurring stroke each year.

A medical director tells us a major tip on how to deal with a stroke unexpectedly, “I think it’s important for everyone to understand that time is brain and approximately every minute about two million neurons are lost so the faster you get to the hospital the faster we can treat.”
