Baseball on Delmarva presentation at Wicomico Public Libraries

Wicomico Public Libraries has announced there will be a presentation by the Eastern Shore Baseball Foundation at the Downtown Library on August 20.
The event will take place from 6-8 PM, and the theme of the presentation is Baseball on the Eastern Shore at the turn of the century until 1922, when the Class D Eastern Shore League was born. There will also be on display memorabilia of Baseball items from that era plus other Baseball memorabilia from the Salisbury region.
The guest speaker is Marty Payne who has presented at various venues including “Country Ball on the Eastern Shore of Maryland,” at the Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture, Keynote speaker, “Social and Economic Impact on Baseball in Rural Communities,” at the National Convention of Vintage Baseball Association and at the National Baseball Hall of Fame, “More Than a Ballplayer; Players of the 1880’s and Their Pursuit of the American Dream.” to name a few.
Donnie Davidson, board member of the Eastern Shore Baseball Foundation will be displaying memorabilia from his collection.
This program is a family friendly event and free and open to the public.
Wicomico Public Libraries are located in Downtown Salisbury, the Centre at Salisbury, in Pittsville, and the Library Bookmobile.
