3rd annual Run, White & Blue 5K benefits Owens Campus veterans’ scholarship

The third annual Run, White & Blue 5K has been announced for Thursday, September 1, at Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus.

This event benefits the Owens Campus veterans’ scholarship at Delaware Technical Community College.

The race starts at 6 PM by the flagpole near the Student Services Center, and pre-registered participants and day of participants can register and pick up their T-shirt and race bib inside the Student Services Center beginning at 5 PM. Following the event, there will be a post-race cookout and awards ceremony for the top overall male and female finishers as well as the top finishers in each age group.

There will also be a one mile walk option that starts at the same time as the 5K.

Registration is currently available at here, and the cost is $20 for adults, or $25 day of, $10 for all students, military, first responders, and children 2-17 years old, and $20 for the Silent Marcher, meaning you would just donate to the event, stay at home, and you will be sent an event T-shirt. All registration costs $25 after Aug. 29.

Organizers for the event say that their sponsors are World Gym Millsboro, Lighthouse Catering, Mispillion River Brewing Co., and The Wawa Foundation, and the race will be managed by Seashore Striders.
