Wicomico Historical Society donates $50k to Nabb Center

The Wicomico County historical society has donated $50,000 to Salisbury University’s Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva history and culture. The donation, which will also benefit the larger community as well as the University, will go towards the Ray Thompson Conference Room and the Bettie Harcum Morris Digitization and Processing Center inside the new $117 million Guerreri Academic Commons. The donation also honors the late university president’s George E. Chevallier Jr. and John E. Jacob, Esq.
Historical Society board members tell 47ABC they have been looking to make a donation since they sold their museum, and they decided on SU since the Nabb Center holds all of the history that the Historical Society has worked so hard to preserve.
Board member Tony Sarbanes says “I’m hoping that our small contribution will get people excited about going to see what the Nabb Center has to offer. If they do that, it’s money well spent.”
