US 113 overnight closures begin July 25

A heads up for drivers in Worcester County, four overnight closures have been announced in on US 113, also known as Worcester Highway.

The first closing is set to take place, weather permitting, on Monday, July 25 near Newark in Worcester County.

Road officials say that he closures, between Langmaid Road and Basket Switch Road, will take place over a three-week period and are necessary for crews to safely install new stormwater management pipes.

Detours will be in place from 6 PM to 6 AM which will allow crews to excavate, remove existing pipe and structures, install new storm drain pipe, backfill and patch the roadway.

Officials say that three of the pipes will be installed just south of Langmaid Road, and drivers can detour using Langmaid Road and Newark Road. Then, a fourth pipe will be installed just north of Basket Switch Road, and drivers can detour using Basket Switch Road and Newark Road.  

Officials ask drivers to keep in mind that the nights when work occurs may vary depending on weather and site conditions, detour signs will be posted, and drivers can still access local roads throughout each closure.
