UPDATE: Va. teen killed in Route 50 crash

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack say, they are investigating a fatal crash in Worcester County that claimed the life of a Virginia teen.
According to reports just before 9:00 PM Wednesday, 19-year-old Nicholas Lawrence Quental was driving west Route 50 in the area of Grays Corner Road. At the time troopers say for unknown reasons, the vehicle drove into the center median and hit a tree. As a result of the impact, Quental was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.
Authorities indicate Quental was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased upon arrival of medical personnel. His body has reportedly been sent to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
Route 50 at Grays Corner Road was closed for about four hours. Troopers say, the investigation into this crash is ongoing.
The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Worcester County Bureau of Investigation, State Highway Administration, Maryland Office of Chief Medical Examiner, Ocean City Fire Department and the Worcester County Crisis Response Team are credited in assisting with this investigation.
