UPDATE: Seaford man pleads guilty to murder by abuse of daughter

A 25 year prison term has been secured for a Seaford man, after an incident with his daughter from 2010.
Jason Gallaway, 37, claimed his daughter fell off his lap and accidentally hit her head, causing injuries that led to her death, back in December of that year. Gallaway was convicted of murder in the first degree in 2012, and was given a life sentence.
The Delaware Supreme Court affirmed this conviction, but a Superior Court judge later overturned the conviction. This happened during a post-conviction appeal when Gallaway alleged inadequacies in his trial representation.
He claimed that he was given inadequate funds to retain a medical expert for the trial, and the Superior Court agreed.
While he was awaiting a new trial, Gallaway pled guilty to murder by abuse first degree. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
