UPDATE: Names released in Dover murder-suicide investigation

Law enforcement in Kent County have released the identities in an on-going murder-suicide investigation in Dover.

The Dover Police Department and the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit say they are both continuing to work on the murder-suicide investigation, after a woman was found dead in her apartment in Dover.

The investigation is continuing from Monday, after Dover Police Officers responded to a fatal car crash involving a pedestrian. The male victim was said to have walked into the car’s path on US Route 13, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Later, it was reported that a vehicle was found with its engine running in the parking lot of a Wendy’s, on the same road that the victim had walked into traffic on.

Officials say that this car belonged to the deceased pedestrian, and later that morning police went to his registered apartment to notify the next of kin. According to reports, after officials arrived, they met a man living in the apartment whom they asked if they could speak with the victim’s wife.

Officials say they then entered the apartment and found the body of the 25-year-old woman, who turned out to be the wife of the deceased pedestrian. The woman reportedly suffered from an obvious injury to her torso. The man officials talked to reportedly rents a room at the apartment, and did not know that the woman was dead in her bedroom before the officers arrived.

Detectives say they are continuing the investigation by conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.

The female victim has been identified as Wislene Volcy Deborne, 25, and the man has been identified as Pierre Rubens Volcy, 36, both of Dover.

According to the report, the couple had a 2-year-old son that was taken from the apartment to the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, and was not reported to have had any injuries. Officials say the boy was then turned over to the care of the Delaware Division of Family Services.

The investigation into both incidents is ongoing, and anyone with information asked to call Detective Mark Csapo at 302-698-8427, Corporal Mark Hoffman at the Dover Police Department at 302-222-5969, or Crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
