UPDATE: Dover death investigation continues, one more victim linked to body found

Members of the Delaware State Police are now conducting a homicide investigation, after a 25-year-old Dover woman was found dead in her apartment, with injuries to her upper torso.

Troopers say Dover Police officers responded to Route 13 and Webbs Lane just before 2:00 AM to a report of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian. Once they arrived, police say the male had been pronounced dead.

However, Troopers say a vehicle was found running in the parking lot of the nearby Wendy’s at the intersection the man was killed. According to investigators, a report was run and it turned out the vehicle was registered in the victim’s name.

At about 9:15 AM, Dover Police officers responded to the address of the victim, located at in Alder Park Apartments to try to make contact with his wife who is his next of kin, when they discovered a male occupant inside the home.

Police say they asked to speak with the wife, when they discovered her body located in the rear bedroom of the apartment. State Police say the she had suffered “an obvious injury to her torso area.”

The male occupant of the home, who rents a room inside the apartment, reportedly told police he did not know that the female victim was deceased.

State Police say detectives are continuing their investigation by conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.

All identities of the victims are being withheld at the moment.
