Troopers in Delaware are investigating a crash in Millsboro on Thursday night, after one person has died and two others injured, including a 1-year-old child.

According to the Delaware State Police just before 6:00 PM, 70-year-old Bradford Grimm, of Millsboro, was driving south on Bethesda Road approaching the stop sign at the intersection of Avenue of Honor. At the same time 32-year-old Stacey Hastings, of Bridgeville was reportedly driving west on Avenue of Honor approaching the same intersection, with the right of way. Troopers say, for unknown reasons Grimm, failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection in front of Hastings car, causing them to collide. As a Grimm’s car reportedly hit a sign post and utility pole before coming to a stop.

Officials say, Grimm was properly restrained and transported to Beebe Healthcare where he was pronounced dead. Hastings and her 1-year-old son were reportedly properly restrained and taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Investigators say, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this case. Avenue of Honor at Bethesda Road was reportedly closed for about two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
