Triple A warns of road rage dangers

Keeping calm at the wheel, apparently a lot of people have trouble doing so. According to triple A, in the past year, in Maryland almost 8 million Americans engaged in extreme road rage by either confronting another driver in person or ramming into another car on purpose.
51% intentionally tailgated others, 33% made angry gestures and 12% cut off another vehicle on purpose. From 2009 to 2013, there have been about 51 fatalities and 336 injuries as a result of the aggressive driving.
In the first state, Delaware state police reported that there were over 62,000 arrests made last year because of aggressive driving. That’s a 9.6 increase from the previous year.
So what can you do to contain road rage? When it happens to you, don’t respond, avoid eye contact and don’t make any gestures. You could also try and alter your schedule to avoid traffic. Triple A also suggests, try to be tolerant and forgiving.
