Towels reportedly spontaneously combust, start fire at Salisbury La Quinta Inn

Officials are saying that dish towels spontaneously combusted early Thursday morning, and started a fire at a Salisbury hotel.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal says The Salisbury Fire Department went to the LaQuinta Inn and Suites around 1 AM, after an automatic fire alarm went off in the hotel.
According to the report, the hotel did have smoke alarms and sprinkler systems present, and activated when they arrived, allowing 20 Salisbury firefighters about 30 minutes to control the blaze.
Officials say that the building’s sprinklers contained the fire to the kitchen storage area. Officials state that the area of origin was in the kitchen storage area, and that the flames were caused by the accidental, spontaneous combustion of dish towels.
The overall loss was reported at about $10,000 structurally and only about $500 in contents. No injuries were reported.
