Talbot-Caroline Ends Wicomico Regular Season Run

The Wicomico legion ball team hadn’t last a regular season game in over 3 years. They were undefeated on the season and sitting alone in first place.

All that changed Thursday against Talbot-Caroline.

Caroline overcame an early 1 run deficit to pull out a 3-1 win, behind a strong outing from Jaret Bennett on the hill. 

Wicomico would take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd after Dylan White ripped a RBI single to left to score Devynn Hancock. But Talbot-Caroline would fire right back in the top of the next frame. Brenan Cassell got it started with a RBI single to score Matt Burns. Then Jake Zebron would rip a RBI single up the middle to give the road team the lead.

Both pitchers settled in from there as base runners became hard to come by. Finally, Talbot-Caroline again was threatening in the 5th and would tack on another run off a RBI bloop single to right from Dylan Nepert that would plate Jaret Bennett. The lead was more than enough for Bennett who would go the distance on the hill, and hold on for the win.
