Rain washes out roadway in Mardela Springs

Thursday’s downpours resulted in a lot of damage to a roadway in Wicomico County.

The photo you see above, was taken this morning in Mardela Springs, and according to Lee Outen from Wicomico County Roads, the water is from Barron Creek Pond.

The road sits on a private dam and when the water levels rose, 47ABC was told that a large chunk of the roadway washed away.

It is unclear when the road will be fixed, but officials tell 47ABC that this is not the first time this has happened, and if they do find the money to fix it, then they will make sure that this does not happen again.
