One dead in Berlin truck collision

On Sunday morning, Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack say they were dispatched for an accident involving a truck and a tractor trailer.

The preliminary investigation states that the truck driver left the left side roadway, struck a ditch, and then reentered the road striking a tractor trailer on US 50 eastbound at Route 589 in Worcester County, Maryland.

ABC 47 was told that police found the truck underneath the trailer with the truck driver trapped inside with no pulse. The truck driver, Mervin Louis Martin of Pittsville, MD. was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say the tractor trailer driver was Russell K. Morrison from Fayetteville, PA. and was not injured.

MSP are currently handling the situation. Police claim that the cause of the accident is still unknown.
