Md. medicinal marijuana applications to be approved next month

The Maryland medical cannabis commission has finally let applicants for processing and cultivation know when their applications for licenses will be approved.
The word came this week during a committee meeting.
One of the parties attending says that they were given word that during the next meeting in August the state would announce which processing applications and cultivation applications have been approved.
If every thing goes as scheduled, medical marijuana could be here as soon as this winter.
“As Rep. Dan Morhaim said that by having this selection made in August, potential exists for product to be available by December of 2016, and you know, into the beginning of 2017,” said Angeline Nanni, CEO of CannaMed pharmaceutical, a company who has an application out with the state.
The date for the meeting is August 5, however officials did say if the list is not finalized by then the meeting could be pushed back a week or two
