Maryland puts quarantine on incoming poultry

Maryland has implemented a quarantine to prevent the spread of High Path Avian Influenza, a form of bird flu.
It appears this quarantine will remain in effect until the end of this year.
Official say there is no imminent threat of an outbreak this is purely preventative.
Under the quarantine commercial chicken operations will have to meet basic biosecurity and sanitation practices.
The quarantine also orders that all hatching eggs and poultry entering the state must be tested within 10 days, or those products must come from a certified clean source.
High Path Avian Influenza can apparently wipe out flocks of chickens in days, but experts said it cannot pass to humans.
