Jury is selected for murder trial of a Dorchester Co. woman

On Monday, after eight hours, jury was selected for the murder trial of a Dorchester County woman, who allegedly stabbed a man fatally  early this year.

Twenty-year old Kryshonna Jones  is charged with first degree murder.  She’s accused of stabbing 34 year old Justin Barney in January. According to court documents, authorities were called to Jones’ home for a report of a stabbing where they found Barney still alive outside on the ground. Jones reportedly told members of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s office they were outside discussing child custody when Jones claimed both Barney and pushed each other until she said stop because ‘he was bleeding’. Authorities told 47 ABC that the pair have a child together, but it is unclear how the stabbing occurred. The trial is expected to last three days. Opening statements are expected to start tomorrow.
