Indian River School District looking for bus drivers for new school year

The Indian River School District has announced it is in need of bus drivers for the 2016-17 school year.

Officials say that with district enrollment growth and several current bus drivers retiring, they have several openings for the upcoming academic year, which starts September 6.

Delaware bus drivers are required to have a commercial driver’s license and school bus endorsement, however the district says they will help interested drivers in getting the necessary training to get a commercial drivers license, and school bus endorsement, before the school year begins.

The district also made clear that bus driver applicants will be subject to pre-employment drug testing, criminal background, and child protection registry checks.

If you are interested in applying, contact Tyler Bryan in the district transportation office at 302-436-1000 or email tyler.bryan@irsd.k12.de.us
