Fiery crash closes eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 50 in West OC

Members of the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack have confirmed with 47 ABC at least one person has died following a crash in the West Ocean City area along Route 50.

Troopers say State Highway officials are on scene helping direct traffic. State Police told 47 ABC around 10:40 P.M. on Wednesday that Route 50 would be closed in both directions for an undetermined amount of time, in the area east of Walmart outside of the Ocean Gateway Center.

Based on a viewer-submitted photo seen above, the crash seems to be in the median of the highway.
