Easton man charged in April home hit and run

Easton Police say they arrested a man after he crashed a car into a house and then fled the scene, back in April.
Ever Morales-Soto, 27, was reportedly served with an arrest warrant on Thursday in connection with a hit and run crash into a residential home. According to the report, on April 10, a vehicle drove into the side of a house on South Park Street.
Officials say that the house had to be evacuated and later refurbished because of the crash. Easton police state that the vehicle fled the scene, but investigation led them to Morales-Soto who is said to have lived at the house with others at the time of the crash.
Officials say that the warrant charges Morales-Soto with malicious destruction of property over $1,000, reckless driving, negligent driving, failure to stop after accident involving attended property damage, failure to return to and remain at scene of accident involving attended property damage, and failure of vehicle driver in accident to report property damage to nearest police.
Morales-Soto was reportedly taken to the Easton Police Department to be processed, taken before a District Court Commissioner where he asked for a public defender, and is now waiting at the Talbot County Detention Center until a public defender becomes available to represent him at his hearing. He awaits trial in the case.
